A St Helens babystore has closed - leaving expectant mums hundreds of pounds out of pocket.
Floods of irate customers have contacted trading standards after Rascals Nursery World on Ormskirk Street went under.

It is the fourth business in St Helens in less than a fortnight to be affected by the current financial meltdown.

Collette Rai, of St Helens Council's trading standards department, said: "We can confirm that the owners are filing for bankruptcy and we have received a number of calls from out of pocket customers.

"At the moment we are waiting to find out who the receivers will be and then customers will be on the creditor list.

"If you have paid with a credit card you can claim the money back from your individual credit card company."

"If you have bought goods from Rascals Nursery World and have not received them contact Consumer Direct on 0845 404 0506."

In your article you mention Rascals is the fourth business in the last 2 weeks to be affected by the credit crunch in St. Helens.

Please can you tell me the other 3 businesses. I am looking at the economy with my students and would like to relate it to real life examples, companies they are familar with.

Many Thanks
