Health chiefs in St Helens are looking to recruit two non-executive directors.
The roles typically take up about two and a half days a month but play a vital role in shaping the way healthcare is delivered by Halton and St Helens Primary Care Trust.

Non-executive directors can come from a variety of backgrounds but must have experience of operating at a senior level within their chosen field.

Responsibilities include:
* Ensuring that the board acts in the best interests of the public and is fully accountable for the services it provides
* Helping to plan strategies for improvements to healthcare services
* Ensuring that performance targets are achieved and finances are managed effectively
* Ensuring the public is kept informed
