Officials from St Helens Council have joined forced with staff at Job Centre Plus in a bid to push down unemployment figures in the borough.
The Employment and Skills Providers' Exhibition and Conference at the Park Inn saw more than 100 people involved in delivering employment and skills activity in St Helens come together to promote their services, take part in workshops and to network in relation to tackling unemployment.

Those involved included voluntary organisations and charities, primary care trusts, practitioners and providers, advice workers, further education providers and local partnerships.

Councillor Richard Ferry, executive member for Urban Regeneration, said: "We hope that by encouraging greater networking the Council and its partners can have a greater impact in helping more local residents into jobs and improving their skill levels too."
