Ward evacuated at Scott Clinic

A ward on a psychiatric hospital in Rainhill had to evacuated after a patient set fire to his bed.
Six patients and several nurses were forced to flee the ward in Scott Clinic following the incident on Monday afternoon (August 4).

The man believed to be responsible for starting the blaze was not injured and fire did not spread.

Firefighters from Whiston station arrived within minutes and quickly extinguished the blaze.
